DO Advanced – Maximizing the performance of EV-DO
Typically in a wireless network, the load changes continuously with respect to time and location. Also, fully loaded sectors are usually surrounded by lightly loaded neighbors. DO Advanced improves performance by adapting network to this uneven loading, where and when needed, while utilizing existing resources.
DO Advanced benefits:
- Higher network capacity and an enhanced user experience through “Smart Network” techniques
- Simple software upgrade that benefits existing and new devices
- Increased connection-capacity and better congestion management for applications such as “push” mobile email
- Enhances performance of all deployment scenarios: single carrier, multiple carriers, Rev. B/Multicarrier, macrocell networks and advanced topology networks
- Further improves performance by leveraging advanced devices, without impacting infrastructure or standards
DO Advanced is being standardized by 3GPP2 and is expected to be commercial in 2011.
