The San Diego-based company has thirty-five facilities totaling more than 3.5 million sq. ft. operating in 10 U.S. states and 15 countries. Qualcomm is a Charter Member of the California Climate Registry and was recognized in 2005 by the Registry as a Climate Action Leader for certification of its greenhouse gas inventory.

Qualcomm Connects with Energy Savings During Construction Projects

(2007) -- Many corporations have taken positive steps towards energy efficiency by retrofitting their facilities with the latest technologies. By contrast, Qualcomm has employed a ground up approach, incorporating energy-saving strategies into its new construction projects consistently since the early 1990s.

This wireless communications company owns or leases over 4 million square feet of building space in San Diego alone. And since 1993 their projects have saved more than 10 million kilowatt- hours of electricity annually. Recently, they've completed building projects that further exemplify Qualcomm's commitment to environmental stewardship and enerqy savings, and round out the company's effort towards Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System Gold certification.
